In Matthew we see what Jesus does but in Mark we see how Jesus feels inside. And my bowels are filled with compassion is what Jesus will say elsewhere. How can I help but come running? Because I know what it feels like to be suffering even as you. So he touches him. This is a detail that only Mark recalls. In the next verse verse 4 Jesus says to this man that's now healed, who am I going to go see first? What family members? What friends have I been cut off from for so long? And I just want to throw my arms around them. Knowing they can finally throw their arms around me. Remember we call that the messianic secret
