How to Recycle Oyster Shells
Dickie's restaurants get through a lot of oysters, and for a long time, they just chuck these shells into landfill. He was visiting a fishing village on the coast when he saw heavy trucks bringing in huge limestone blocks to protect the coastline from erosion. "I'm like, can an oyster shell not rebuild an oyster bed? Like, absolutely can," Dickie says.
