Getting Feedback From a Senior Manager
One of my team members, let us call him sam, had been experiencing some performance issues. Sam made a remark around how we need to raise the hiring bar technically for new hires. The effect was that sam took the feedback very lightly and did not make any changes. My main learnings were, number one, addressing the feedback in the moment with contacts. Number two, not really the lack of experience or management years in any role deter me from having those hard conversations.
