GHC: A Compiler for Functional Languages

HG 6.6 was the first version of Haskell to expose its internals as a library, collected set of modules. And so that allowed us to make great leaps because we could just take everything from GHC and the front end. This was in 2009. I did a somewhat exceptional master thesis is that it was actually the two of us. It was Matthias Gohmann, who started around the same time as me. He was kind of looking at Lava, but he, well, it was sort of fast and loose at our research group in terms of how you would do your master's projects.
