Protein is a building block for just about everything about us and the conversation about hormones. The Kansas Medical Center used FMRIs to find that adding in more protein specifically for the first meal of the day literally decreases the signals in the brain that stimulate appetite, Dr. G says. And so much like eating too much protein is associated with cardio metabolic risk, this study found.
