The Implications of Regulating Private Schools

In India, the education policy is more input-centric. Focus is more on input output rather than outcomes. So there are certain regulations around that too in terms of what is the land holding or how the school is built. It becomes difficult for any player to just enter. You need to have this much amount of capital over there. And as I was mentioning, it leads to inferior quality because competition is not there. The state capacity to regulate also is limited, since some schools are hardly inspected every year.
