Gandhi's on His Back Through That Period?
Hospitals were choked so that it was impossible to remove the dead quickly enough to make room for the dying. The streets and lanes of cities were littered with dead and dying people. Gandhi's letters from this time are fascinating because you see him go from like writing these long screeds about politics and war recruiting to real soul searching.
