Women Detectives Are Not What They Should Be
Charles Warren resigned from his post at Scotland Yard on the day of Mary Kelly's murder. James Monroe took over, but not everyone was convinced that he could do a good job. A man who had been part of White Chapel Vigilance Committee said police couldn't be trusted. He wanted to start something like a recruiting drive for matrons in both east and west London. But East End women were pulling together in ways they never had before. Here's Dr Louise Ra to tell us more.
