We become dependent on stress or drugs that take us away numb the pain, we have a whole brain circuitry that says, let's reward this because it is really awful to be in chronic pain. loneliness and isolation are very much part of an addiction to drama. So they're already set up in this way to become hooked on the thing that relieves the pain and fills the void.
