Breton Bards and the Ron Crusade in Ten 66
In ten 66, under duke william, they invade and conquer england. Some of the s were bretons from brittany, in the western edge of france. These breton bards apparently crossed the channel with these norman conquerors back into britain. And some of them probably saw this as a kind of fitting revenge against those anglo saxon enemies whom they their ancestors had to flee centuries earlier. As they did so, they marched into england, telling stories and singing songs of king arthur.
