What Arent Got Wrong About Hobbs
Arent wanted us to create our own political story. She said, only through politics can we emancipate ourselves from the cold mechanical hand of hobsey and rationalism. And i think as an argument, it is both very prescient, quite chilling, and at some fundamental level wrong. I think what our rent gets wrong about hobbs is that she assumes he was trying to reduce human action to the level of mechanical motion.
