Where Did the United States Stand in 2019?

The United States is no longer seen as the bulwark of freedom in the world. The most deteriorated countries are Syria, Nicaragua, Hungary, Egypt and Venezuela. It would seem all the more important now for the U.S. to try to regain that mantle. Freedom of the freest countries is associated with progress not just in those countries but around the world.
