The Importance of Proof in Confidential Transactions
Bitcoin founder Vitalik Buterin explains how SegWit was created. He says the idea of confidential transactions is that amounts are obscured cryptographically so you can't see them. And then there's an opt deterministic random, like that we've never figured out a use for - but some of those turned out to be great. 'We come up with them when they're kind of crappy and then make somebody else maintain them while we go work on Bitcoin,' he says.
