The Importance of Understanding Technology and Business
I would say that like you said, there's kind of three groupings of 50%. I definitely think you need to understand technology and business to be effective as a CDO. It really isn't an easily defined skill set because the nature of data is horizontal through the organization. And our organizations are very vertical in their organizational structures.

Malcolm is interviewed by Anthony Algmin on the Data Leadership Lessons podcast to discuss his personal journey to becoming a thought leader in the data field.
