The Effects of Benzos on Seizures
benzodiazepines are relatively safe and they're very easy to administer. The types of benzos that you might come across are diazepam, medazolam and lorazepam. Some studies recently have shown that the effectiveness of them decreases rapidly from the start of a seizure and progressing through it. In pediatric patients with status, those who received first line Benzodiazepine treatment more than 10 minutes from beginning of their seizure had higher odds of death.
