Chatter is an aversive state. It feels awful. We don't like this experience of being consumed by our thoughts or in our noise. What I think we often lack is the ability knowing exactly what tools we could then use in a very precise way to manage that. So when we experience chatter, we often zoom in on our problems so and so narrowly. We're focusing on that issue that's bugging us to the exclusion of really everything else that’s going on in our lives. This can be quite helpful. And this ability to get some distance or space mark experience can often bequite helpful.
