Early modern philosophers say that belief follows evidence, and that thereis no real distinction to be drawn between reasons why we hold something true and actual content of the belief. Ideas are not pictures in the mind; they are acts of understanding which carry their own truth conditions. The radical project is an attempt to change the world through a new way of looking at things.
