The Importance of Biodegradable Products
Biodegradable as a term doesn't really tell you how long it will take or under what conditions. Some of them are made from things like cornstarch and sugar beet. The question is whether growing crops in order to make plastics is a good thing. Even the certified home compostable bags may not actually compost in your back garden over a period of two years. They might still be around in two years or they might compost in three months. You can't just put it there. You have to actively do it properly.
