Investing in Equity, Stock Market, Great Companies of the World

When you invest in equity, stock market, the great companies of the world, you become an owner. If you invested a thousand pounds now in a general stock market fund, maybe three pounds of that might be invested in BP or HSBC. You are technically an owner of these companies. The next asset class down is something called fixed income. And again, this does come under the title bonds. So it's different to equities in that you are not actually, if you invest in fixed income assets, you actually become what we call a loner to companies or governments. In terms of risk, cash is the least risky.
