Hyper Tensive Emergency - What to Do

Groups of symptoms may point towards a specific condition, such as headache, diapheresis, tremors and palpitations. The patient's symptoms may also be due to withdrawal or intoxications. So take a close look at the patient's medications and identify any recreational drug or alcohol use. Consider whether the patient was admitted for a condition associated with significant pain, as pain may cause hyper tension. On physical exam, assess mentation and conduct a detailed examination of the cranial nerves, peripheral nervous system, heart and lungs.
