Liverpool are through to the fourth round of the League Cup after clinching another late victory.

Hugo Ekitike was the match-winner at Anfield as the Reds beat Southampton 2-1, but he was then sent off for a second bookable offence after celebrating by removing his shirt.

Alexander Isak had earlier opened the scoring for Liverpool with his first goal for the club, while Federico Chiesa impressed as the Italian set up both goals for Arne Slot's side.

Meanwhile, the Reds also saw Giovanni Leoni stretchered off as a promising debut was brought to a premature end in the second half.
