H hacking Chinese is one of the leading blogs for learning Mandarin. The problem tends to be that people don't work on their pronunciation enough they give up working on their pronunciation before it's comprehensible. A lot of Japanese people have lived in the US for multiple years or they've gone to school here for multiple years and still really struggle with English. They almost develop a fear of foreigners so when someone walks up to them with a white face they almost like they freeze up because they have this it's like PTSD for them. It immediately changes the the vibe in the interaction if you know what I mean right?
