The Path to Optically Transparent Augmented Reality Systems

I'm not a believer in optically transparent augmented reality systems. I think that they are a interesting thing to do in the short to medium term while our ability to build perfect VR systems is limited. But at the end of the day, trying to build a system that simultaneously allows for the unhindered passage of real world reflected photons in your eyes and adding synthetic imagery on top of that is almost it's an impossible compromise. We just need extraordinarily high resolution optics with very, very high, very, veryhigh resolving power.
