What Are Boundary Struggles?
The usual marxian story about class struggle, while very powerful and absolutely pertinent to our time as well, could not fully account for struggles outside the work place. Where should we drawe line between production and reproduction? These struggles that i just mentioned over protective legislation in the nineteenth and twentieth century were struggles over just that question. And they were, at the same time, struggles over what's the boundary between the state and the market.
