Is MIT the Most Open Source License?
"We have Bitcoin sitting there waiting to dish out to projects, um, in need and your project completely fits the bill," says Gavin Andresen. "It's facing some of the same hurdles that the free open source projects that we're trying to support are facing", he adds. A lot of grants require you to switch to MIT, if you're not using a more widely accepted license such as the GPL. This allows corporations to come in and take the code and not contribute back,. But I just don't see this as a super commercially profitable potential venture."
