Airlines got 54 billion dollars in federal aid during the pandemic, and a condition of that assistance was that the airlines were not allowed to use the money on share by plans. That band is going to end on september thirtieth. The unions representing pilots, flight attendants and other industry employees are now publicly urging the airlines not to resume bibacks when the band is lifted.
