In the past, you could use either Expo or vanilla React Native. But now, thanks to a bunch of work by Frank Kalise, we actually unified the two and it just works with both. So if you want Expo, you just say, yarn Expo colon start. And if you don't want Expo,. you can just say yarn start or let's say yarn iOS or yarn Expo colon iOS. It is really nice for like initially spinning up your ideas and working on the UI but then later as you get into it, you know what? I'd rather go with more of a bare workflow. No problem.
