The Risk of Using Vapor Barrier Gloves in Extremely Cold Conditions

There is a risk of using vapor barrier gloves in extremely cold conditions. If you're wearing a liner and that liner is inside some layered vapor barrier glove or mitten system, it's going to cause a massive amount of evaporative cooling which can make your hand unusable within minutes. These are not the cure-alls for all temperatures and all conditions.
