When I was a teenager, the high street that we had then has basically been eviscerated in the last 20 years. And it just really took me back to shopping on a Saturday morning,. browsing the body shop for hours and buying a glittery butterfly clip from Claire's or belt from U Look. So actually real joy of adulthood is buying hardbacks. But anyway, the experience of shopping then was just, I just think it was so joyful compared to what I see it now as which feels just quite high pressure and almost like a necessary labor. She says: 'I honestly truly feel a great deep sense of joy having slowed my habits'
