What if the Book Isn't Primarily About Suffering, but About the Journey?
Job's suffering is caused by the sins of other humans or natural disasters, but it's all exasperated by job's relative ignorance. What if this is a journey, and his losing the hedge is kind of a passing through a vail, as it were? And so he comes into a new stage of existence. Job has thus gone through a kind of a fall.
