Mark Cockleberg and I want to bring into the conversation about artificial intelligence a relational ethic. We should focus on relationships before individual things that are related, they say. The word social presence is so important because it takes an object from being something which is other from us and makes it something that is in relation to us. There's a connection to feminist care ethics in that sort of way of thinking.
