You Haven't Been Through This, You've Never Taken a Creative Writing Class.

I've never taken a creative writing class. You have not been through this. And I have to say reading this book, I'm really glad I haven't. Like the idea of workshop sounds nightmarish. It's almost like he goes out of his way to make it sound really nightmarish and even his fixes sound awful. He makes a very strong case in the first half of the book for why all the things that are wrong with MFA programs. The second half of thebook is then saying like, okay, here's how workshop should be running sad. That's you've taken an awful system and made it somehow even worse.
