The Tension Between Time and Object
The tension arises as follows. Imagine that you're watching a film of two billiard balls, colliding with one another somewhere in intergalactic space. And what you see in the film is something like this. This billiard ball is initially at rest in the middle of the frame. But it's past the time we think about treating, think about whether or not we can freeze time. So time very much seems like an object.
