Wenger's Approach to Football

Wenger didn't buy players because he wanted to prove that he wasn't a checkbook manager. His whole identity from the beginning of his career, even when he was in Japan, it was all about development of a player. It was always about giving youth a chance and I think he had more satisfaction about seeing potential and giving them the facilities to realise it than buying a ready-made player.
