I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life
I just think the first 2000 years of Christianity weren't ready for the momentous nature of what we say we believe. I just don't think humanity's mind was big enough to accept anything beyond a tribal God, a God we could pull in to justify France or Italy or Mississippi. That's not the Jesus most people know. It isn't what I was given either. So we're all victims of this. Unbelievable when you think of it.
