There are a number of shared personality traits between the 20th century leaders you profile. These were driven individuals in each case they were massively ambitious and more than average. They lent themselves towards in many ways towards authoritarianism within their democratic framework. There was also a streak of ruthlessness this is ruthlessness with Stalin or Hitler but also a level of of readiness to be ruthless in the usage of power applied to the democrats as well.
