Is There a One Object?

The dominant idea in Western knowledge is indeed that there is one object. And you can look you can stand around it and then everybody who stands around it has a different perspective. This is the sort of the central concern of the book I wrote about knowledge in the medical system. There are different practices in which an object emerges to be something different. So this is not one object, one boundary of the body that people have different perspectives on,. But it's really different boundaries that matter in different ways and then to different practices.
