Is Kickstarter Good for Society or Bad?

This was like a million dollar Kickstarter almost, wasn't it? I mean, it raised far more money than a product like this should make for a purpose built for a cookie maker. It'd be the funniest thing in the world if it wasn't such a sad commentary on modern life. So is Kickstarter good for society or bad? Well, I think two years ago, I would have said good. But so many Kickstarter's, it's not that they failed because if they failed, the models working, right? It's that they succeeded, but then the people couldn't follow through.
