In the south australian citizen assembly, 300 and forty people were deliberating on nuclear power. The organizers realized that they needed spokespeople, but they didn't want to hold an election. They spent an hour in a room working out the critea you would follow to get the best spokespeople. At the end of the period of selecting the spokespeople, they realized that they had perfect gender balance. Well, that's the way to get gender balance.
