I think Alvaroff got the Nobel Prize in economics for working out the logistics of how to do massive longitude, more kidney swapping. This is actually being considered quite seriously. Most transplant surgeons that I speak to were actually in favor of allowing some type of market. Whether it direct cash or more likely, you get health insurance and significant tax credits.
