SampleBrain - A Qt App, Written in Part or Conceptualized by the AFEX Twin

The AFEX Twin has been working since the late 80s, early 90s. SampleBrain is in kind of Synth terms, it loads a folder of samples of short sounds if you want them. It creates a kind of cloud from those sounds. And then you load another piece of audio, a loop, say, a loop it works well with. The app will deconstruct the loop, it'll break it into tiny little grains they call them and you can adjust lots of different parameters about those grains.
