The Mother's Day Proclamation

Julie Award put out the Mother's Day proclamation in 1870. She felt that mothers had the power to prevent war, you know, just through their actions and through the way they raise their children. Her version of Mother's Day was actually stuck around in a bunch of cities in Boston for three decades before World War I.
