Is the CPI Coming in Hotter Than Expectations?
The VIX is up a bit here, 5% or so. Significantly on a decent broader market day. It's telling me that people are a bit nervous in front of tomorrow's print. PPI suggests that CPI might come in a little hotter than people think. If it does come in hot, that will just embolden Fed Chair Powell to reiterate what he said two weeks ago at the Brookings Institute.
