People's temple. basically give people property in order to to fund its mission to Jones town Guyana, and you had whole generations that were dating their property to the church under the threat of violence. So there is this whole culture of terror and fear that existed in the church that compelled folks to feed their property specifically African American women. To give up their paychecks to give up their welfare checks or social security checks, other forms of benefits and tie that to the church. And so, how black women became effectively the socio economic backbone.
