The Importance of Illustrations in Preaching
Do you practice like your illustrations? Do you practice them somehow beforehand to see if they resonate with people or do you have enough kind of instinct now to know, I can tell this illustration, people will get it. Yeah, there's just a weightiness to it or there's something that I know will draw or endear the reader or the listener in so that I am able to then have their attention to me. Illustration is an incubator and provides an opportunity for the entire message to be cultivated in the heart of the reader. It's like fertilizer to just help this point to carry more of a fervor and a fire in the ears of the listener.
