The Immediacy of Time

Abul Barakat was Jewish, for most of his life at least. Both stress the fact that time is something we grasp immediately. We don't need to see anything moving to be aware of time passing,. Rather it is something that is just obvious to us. The Arabic word nafs can mean both self and soul.
