The Correlation Between Egg Shapes and Bird Behavior
Tim Burkhead's favorite bird, the Gilomot, has a pear-shaped egg. He thinks it helps keep the blunt end of the egg out of the poo. Cassie says there are lots of theories for why birds and bodies shape their eggs in this way. She is also looking at egg color to see if that plays a role as well.
