i think one thing we probably paid a little too, not paid enough, attention to with critical race theory is precisely the naming. i think it's really important to see the extent to which the words critical and theory do their own work in discrediting whatever it is that serious curriculums and pedagogues were trying to do. Untili a decent, modestly true story of american history, it discredited it because it was critical and it was theoretical, and it had nothing to do with what is really true or really American.
