Howard Hughes was, I think you could say like one of the worst businessmen of the 20th century. In the sense that everything he was directly involved with failed and the things that he handed off to advisors to run because he was bored or distracted were successful. And so in many ways, the fact that these other people were so successful was what allowed him to descend into this insanity and to be so perpetually unsuccessful.
