Vampire novels are deeply rooted in queerness. The trope has continued, whether the film makers realize it or not. I think even when you have er nosperato or mister barlow, i think vampires are also just inherently sexual,. But ther, you know, as a monster, as a sub genre, they're just inherently erotic. It's why it lends itself to romance so well, i think.
